A Gloucestershire Farm

a work in progress

Central to this idyllic Cotswolds farm estate is an understated farmhouse, recently sold for the first time in over 100 years.  The Gloucestershire farmhouse and surrounding farm buildings have undergone a major refurbishment to create a stunning family home; designed by Fleming Architects who are based between Cirencester and Cheltenham.

Daniel Combes Garden Design have been commissioned by the new owners to design a series of gardens that look as if it has always been there.  A secluded driveway leads you through a woodland past a newly designed lake and jetty.  On arrival at the house you are greeted with a gravel parking area and a series of barns that lead through to a central courtyard kitchen garden with fruit cages and vegetable beds.

The more formal areas close to the main house incorporate topiary trees as well as terraces with seating areas set amongst herbaceous borders. Other features include a sunken trampoline for the family’s children to enjoy, as well as a swimming pool with a raised seating area that allows unparalleled views across the garden to the rural Gloucestershire landscape beyond.
