The owners of this North Wiltshire Farm garden asked us to consider the design and management of not only their garden, but the wider landscape.

A shift in focus towards more environmentally focused practises allows us to engage our ecological thinking and come up with light touch management practises which emphasise natural processes. In this context our focus is on the encouragement of woodland planting and the regeneration as well as the development of unimproved pasture and wild flower meadows.

The development of scrub habitat provides countless opportunities for biodiversity adding a shrub layer to the landscape. This mosaic of vegetation typically creates a vibrant nature filled environment which is not only beautiful and ecologically sensitive but also requires less maintenance. There are a number of grants available to help with creation and maintenance of these landscapes.
